Signing in to your accounts
Petasus keeps each account's sign-in separate in its own workspace. Most accounts sign in exactly as they do in your browser.
What works
- Your password, plus a code from an authenticator app or a text message (2-step verification).
- Phone prompts, where you tap Yes on your phone to approve the sign-in.
- Codes and magic links sent to your email.
- "Continue with Google" and "Continue with Microsoft" buttons on other sites.
- Passwords saved in iCloud Keychain or a password manager, when macOS offers them for the page.
What needs passkeys or a security key
- Google accounts in Google's Advanced Protection Program.
- Company or school accounts whose sign-in policy requires "phishing-resistant" methods.
- Accounts where a security key is the only way to complete 2-step verification.
Passkeys and security keys are coming soon.
If a site asks for a passkey or security key
- Choose another sign-in method on the site if it offers one (password with a code, or a phone prompt).
- Or use "Open in default browser" in the bar Petasus shows, sign in there, and come back.
- If your company requires passkeys, ask your administrator which other method is allowed until Petasus supports them.
